Raj Kapoor’s “AWARA”

The Show-Man Raj Kapoor's classic, Awara, may soon be re-released with a coloured version.
One of the most successful films of all time, Awara celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2011. And since the copyright term of a cinematic creation ends after 60 years of its release, the Kapoors want to retain the rights with their banner, RK Films.
It was also said some time ago that Rishi Kapoor was thinking of remaking the 1951 film, with him in Prithviraj's role and Ranbir playing Raj Kapoor's part. But Ranbir didn't like the idea as much, as he thought the classic film should remain untouched.
Latest addition is that the Kapoors are pondering on a colored revival of the Raj Kapoor-Nargis film. If that comes true, it will be the first release of RK Films in the past twenty two years.
